The short answer is no. Singles nights are designed to make meeting new people feel relaxed, supported and enjoyable.
Here’s what you can expect when you join one of our singles nights or singles events in Manchester.
Every singles night is fully hosted. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a friendly host and welcomed into a beautiful independent venue.
You’ll be shown where to grab a drink if you’d like one, and gently introduced to the space. Many people attend our singles events on their own, so you won’t be the only person arriving solo.
From the start, you’ll know you’re in the right place.
Once everyone has arrived, we use hygge-style conversation cards to help get chats flowing.
These prompts are designed to be light, thoughtful and easy to answer. They give you something to talk about straight away and help move conversations beyond small talk without pressure.
You can use them as much or as little as you like.
Most singles nights include a short, friendly quiz. This often features a picture round and quiz boxes on the tables, giving everyone something to focus on together.
The quiz isn’t about winning or showing off knowledge. It’s about breaking the ice, creating shared moments and giving you natural conversation starters.
We also include optional games throughout the evening, which many people find helps take the edge off initial nerves.
Alongside the structured elements, there’s plenty of time to chat freely and get to know everyone at your own pace.
You’re encouraged to move around the room, join different conversations and follow your curiosity. There’s no rush and no expectation to speak to everyone all at once.
One of the biggest worries people have is missing someone they might have clicked with.
To help with this, we’ll gently swap you around different tables throughout the evening. This means you get the chance to meet lots of different people without having to initiate every move yourself.
It keeps the energy flowing and ensures no one gets stuck in one spot.
Our singles nights and singles parties take place in independent venues across South Manchester, including Didsbury, Withington and Chorlton.
The atmosphere is welcoming, social and intentionally low pressure. This isn’t speed dating or a loud club night. It’s about real conversation and genuine connection.
If you’re single and looking to meet new people in Manchester, a singles night can be a great way to step away from dating apps and try something more human.
